Christmas time is truly a time for relaxation, restoration, and perhaps a bit of reflection.

As we awake this morning at the start of a brand new year, join us as we take the chance to look at some of our most memorable Mackenzie moments from the past 12 months. And of course, a ponder at what awaits us throughout 2022!

 

Our Leathergoods continued to win awards

 

Here at Mackenzie, we’re pretty good at making leather bags. So good, in fact, 2021 continued to see our brand awarded with accolades acknowledging the result of our pride and passion.

 

 

In Autumn, Mackenzie Leather was named Edinburgh’s Best Craft or Creative Business! A much appreciated win to cheer us on our mission – to continue the dwindling leather craft trade and establish its place in the modern world.

 

Our Edinburgh Flagship became a must-visit destination

 

It’s no secret that the world of retail has continued to bear a considerable blow throughout 2021. So it’s not surprising that any recognition our family business receives is a true joy. Made even more rewarding when it comes from official folk, including Trip Advisor and Visit Scotland!

 

 

2021 has seen Mackenzie Leather Edinburgh awarded a 4-star Tourist Shop badge from Visit Scotland. Which sits very well next to our Travellers’ Choice award from Trip Advisor!

Visitors to our HQ in Edinburgh Old Town step into our luxurious showroom, showcasing shelves stacked high with handcrafted delights. From Shoulder Bags to Belts, Accessories to Briefcases. Our talented team of craftsmen are on hand to help – the workshop sits in plain view of the shop floor!

And they very much look forward to greeting the first visitors of the year…

 

Lights, Camera, Action!

 

Despite the successes of our Edinburgh store, our online presence has unsurprisingly had to up its game throughout 2021. Mackenzie’s YouTube channel is ending the year as a growing community of viewers interested in all that we craft.

 

 

And rest assured! We have more videography content lined up in the New Year. Bringing everyone around the world closer than ever before to experience the goings on – on and around our workshop bench!
