Handmade leather Day Sporrans
A classic take on traditional design for a contemporary world
Before the rise of the tailored kilt in the late 18th century, a belt was needed to secure the kilt and prevent it from falling down. It also served as a convenient place to hang a sword, dirk or pistol.
While the need to keep weapons close at hand has, thankfully, disappeared, the kilt belt and sporran have remained key pieces of traditional Highland wear. The sporran design has been refined over the centuries, and these beautiful day sporrans from Mackenzie reflect a more contemporary take on this traditional piece.
