Description
The New Town Satchel has been a traditional accessory for English students for centuries, as attested in Shakespeare’s famous monologue, “All the world’s a stage”. The usual Oxford and Cambridge style satchel features a simple pouch with a front flap. Variations include designs with a single or double pocket on the front and sometimes a handle on the top of the bag. Mackenzie’s Satchel Handle can be added upon request.
Just as we change over time, so too does your Mackenzie Leather bag. Because we use the finest Italian and Spanish hide leather that gains character over time from its wear.

I used the classic satchel (in blue leather) almost daily, when commuting across London to work, for more than 5 years, and it remains a very fine bag. MacKenzie made a slight adaption to the design, on request, by including a handle, as well as a shoulder strap. There are a lot of satchels on the market these days, but the quality of leather and craftsmanship of this product, means that it remains, in my view, ‘the outstanding buy’. (You will also not encounter a nicer group of people to deal with than the staff at MacKenzie).
