Our passion, motivation and inspiration comes from crafting the very best leather goods and bags in the finest Italian and Spanish leather.
The finest leather goods, that last a lifetime, reflecting yours.
Mackenzie Leather was founded on the Isle of Arran in the early 70s with a leather workshop that quickly established a reputation for quality. By 1990, we had opened a shop on Edinburgh’s picturesque Victoria Street. In 2004, the Arran and Edinburgh businesses started to trade independently.
The current owner, Simon Harvey-Potts, began his trade in Spain nearly 20 years ago, making his own leather goods and selling them at local markets at the tender age of 19. In 2002, he started working as an apprentice in time-honoured fashion to truly become a master of the trade.
He is absolutely passionate about creating and hand-producing bespoke leather goods and bags that are one of a kind and full of character.
Ed is originally from Brighton and has a background in vintage clothing and making. After working for four years as a cutter for a prestigious leather jacket manufacturer in the Scottish Borders, Ed joined Mackenzie Leather in April 2017.
Originally from the Scottish Highlands, Andrew moved to Edinburgh in 2000 to study art, and subsequently worked as a chef and a butcher in various establishments around the city. He joined our team in February 2018.
Kevin is a keen artist who has studied various disciplines over the years, including digital art and animation. He has a strong interest in craft and making personal projects and products with a passion for design. Prior to joining our team in January 2019, Kevin worked in oak framing.
