Mackenzie Leather Edinburgh was established in 1990 in the picturesque Victoria Street, now finds its home in St. Mary’s Street at the heart of the old town, where we belong.

Over the years our business has developed quality and variety in all of the products keeping up with fashion. Our dedication has grown with this.

All of our products are handmade in store by our close-knit team who upholds the tradition with passion and respect.

Simon Harvey-Potts
Mackenzie Leather Edinburgh was established in 1990, originally situated in the picturesque Victoria Street. We now have a home in St. Mary’s Street at the heart of the old town.

The current owner, Simon Harvey-Potts, began his trade in Spain nearly 20 years ago, making his own leather goods and selling them at local markets at the tender age of 19. In 2002, he started working as an apprentice in time-honoured fashion to truly become a master of the trade.

He is absolutely passionate about creating and hand-producing bespoke leather  bags and other goods that are one of a kind and full of character.

Edward Fernley
Ed is originally from Brighton and has a background in vintage clothing and making. After working for four years as a cutter for a prestigious leather jacket manufacturer in the Scottish Borders, Ed joined Mackenzie Leather in April 2017.

Andrew Dunn
Originally from the Scottish Highlands, Andrew moved to Edinburgh in 2000 to study art, and subsequently worked as a chef and a butcher in various establishments around the city. He joined our team in February 2018.

Kevin Dwyer
Kevin is a keen artist who has studied various disciplines over the years, including digital art and animation. He has a strong interest in craft and making personal projects and products with a passion for design. Prior to joining our team in January 2019, Kevin worked in oak framing.
